Wickham railway station was opened on 2 September 1936[1] and is located in Wickham, a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. The station is serviced by CityRail Newcastle & Central Coast line and Hunter line services to Maitland, Dungog and Scone.

The station has two side platforms, only four carriages long. Passengers on longer trains are required to use the rear 4 cars.
The down (Newcastle bound) platform is being extended towards Newcastle to allow the signals to be moved so that the Stewart Avenue level crossing at the end of the station is not required to be closed while trains are stopped in the station.
The station receives two Hunter line services (usually to and from Telarah) each way per hour and one local service to and from Morriset per hour. Additional services operate during peak hour.
